Mr. Mkhululi Ndlela, Deputy Chairperson of the Lady Grey Arts Academy’s SGB Committee, addressed the school on 20 July during assembly.

He specifically spoke about the way the learners should behave and promote the image of the school. The parents do their best to keep their children in this good school and in return they should work hard.

He emphasized the importance of the question: “Why am I here?” Each child is here to get a chance to be educated and to become someone. Children represent their parents and therefore bad behaviour or attitude reflects badly on your entire family.

“Being cool is being smart.” You are not cool if you do the wrong things or try to be part of a certain group. You are only cool if you are educated. Children have to look after their bodies. As we all know, a healthy body houses a healthy mind.

A town cannot grow economically without educated people. Without education the economy is going nowhere.

Mr. Ndlela ended his speech with a promise: “I am going to take care of you if you misbehave or do not apply yourself.”
