Lady Grey Kunstefees het gekook

Lady Grey Kunstefees

The cabaret slots offered visitors and current students the opportunity to see what Lady Grey Arts Academy graduates are doing and how their talents have grown.  It was heart-warming to see how these students have developed their skills and how the foundation built at the Academy helps those furthering careers in the arts.

The tea garden, in the quad of the school, offered visitors a relaxing break between shows.  They could enjoy a cup of tea and homemade treats or they could go to the various art exhibitions in the classrooms leading from the quad.

ArtArt work and paintings of former and current students were exhibited and put up for sale.  These exhibitions proved again how talented the students of the Lady Grey Arts Academy are.  Local artist also exhibited, ensuring a diversity of art that could be appreciated.  The children’s production ‘Creation of the World’ also took place on the grass in the tea garden and the children who attended really enjoyed this interactive production.

The stage productions were all exceptional from West Side Story that was performed for the last time to the two Afrikaans productions by the students of Aliwal North High School and of the Academy.  The Le Passiones show was also a highlight.  Two of the school’s music teachers, Mariette Pitout and Luyanda Khumalo, had a Classical Music performance that left the audience in awe.  They are truly talented and it is an honour to have such talent educating our students.

The weekend brought together former students, teachers and friends.  It was a weekend of celebrating the arts and how art can bring diverse people together.  Everyone enjoyed the weekend and we hope to see you again at our next event.

Nashua Aliwal-Noord, Mini Busses Wanted, Ok Enjoy, Aliwal Auto, Cashbuild Aliwal-Noord.

Sponsors
